AIS-140 based tracking of Public Service Vehicles
DIMTS’ Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management platform has been deployed in the state of Delhi over the years for tracking of all commercial vehicles other than buses as well, as deployment of a GPS device has been made mandatory for three wheelers/ auto rickshaws, taxis, Grameen Seva vehicles etc. While these are public utility vehicles their mode of operation, usually in the last mile, is very different from that of buses or even water tankers, and DIMTS was the first company in India to develop a custom solution for the purposes. Further, DIMTS has ploughed back the valuable information and insight gleaned from the operational experience in Delhi in contributing to the development of the AIS 140 standards, which are now the de-facto standards for commercial vehicle tracking as notified by the MoRTH, GoI. Once again, DIMTS was the first company in India to conform to the said standards on its platform, and today the said platform tracks over 150,000 vehicles in Delhi itself.
The solution has been successfully deployed over the years in Delhi.
